The Penguins played their fourth preseason game tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Tristan Jarry got the start for the penguins. Sergei Bobrovsky started for Columbus
Garrett Wilson would get called for hooking at 4:43 of the first. The Penguins would kill off the penalty. At 13:31 Garrett Wilson would take on former penguin Scott Harrington after Harrington kneed Adam Krause. Wilson would also get an instigator penalty and a 10 minute misconduct. Krause would get a penalty for the knee. Carter Rowney would put the penguins on the board at 14:00 with an unassisted goal. The Penguins would get their first powerplay at 17:59 when Matt Calvert got called for hooking. Penguins looked good the on power play despite not scoring. The pens would finish the period with 10 shots. Columbus with 5.
Tom Kuhnhackl would give the Penguins a 2-0 lead at 4:36 of the 2nd. Nick Bonino and Justin Schultz with the assists. Tom Kuhnhackl would get called for hooking at 7:16. Scott Wilson would put the Penguins down 2 men 9 seconds later with a delay of game penalty. Chad Ruhwedel would go to the box at 8:54 for high sticking. The Blue Jackets would get called for a refusal to play the puck penalty at 15:59. Penguins would get 6 shots in the 2nd. Columbus would get 11.
Steve Oleksy would get called for Interference 55 seconds into the 3rd period. Oleksy would called for Interference again at the 17:05. Penguins would kill both penalties and pull out the win 2-0. Penguins would have 7 shots in the 3rd. The Blue jackets would have 8. Jarry would get the shutout with a 24 save performance. Bobrovsky would make 21 saves on 23 shots.
Tristan Jarry looked impressive in his 2nd preseason game. Garrett Wilson is either going to be on the Penguins roster or one of the 1st to be called up.
