The Pittsburgh Penguins played the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday Night. Marc-Andre Fleury would get the start for the Penguins. Peter Budaj would start for the Kings. David Warsofsky and Tom Kuhnhackl would be scratches for the Penguins. Conor Sheary and Derrick Pouliot would be out with injuries for the Penguins. Jordan Nolan would be the lone scratch for the Kings. Andy Andreoff, Brayden McNabb, Marian Gaborik, Jeff Zatkoff, and Jonathan Quick would all be out with injuries for the Kings. Also Tom Gilbert would be out for the Kings due to a suspension.

The Penguins would not be able to convert on the powerplay. The Kings would out shoot the Penguins 12-8 in the 1st period. Trevor Lewis would score at 5:25 of the 2nd to tie the game at 1-1. Kyle Clifford and Alec and Martinez would get the assists. Phil Kessel would go back to the box for high sticking at 6:29. Drew Doughty would get called for tripping at 9:03. The Kings would have the shot advantage in the 2nd 5-3. Matt Greene would score at 2:14 of the 3rd to give the Kings a 2-1 lead. Jeff Carter with the lone assist.Sidney Crosby would tie the game up at 9:28. Kris Letang with the assist. Matt Greene would get called for tripping at 10:09. Matt Cullen would get called for holding the stick at 19:53.The Penguins would out shoot the Kings 11-8 in the 3rd. The game would go into Overtime. Nic Dowd would score at 2:37 of Overtime to give the Kings a 3-2 win. Marc-Andre Fleury would stop 24 of 27 pucks. Sidney Crosby would have 2 goals. Kris Letang would have 2 assists.
